Valerie Silverman Named Executive Director of the Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council

Nonprofit honors dedicated staff member during Tribute to Bravery ceremony attended by over 200 first responders, the BSAC Board of Directors, Chairman’s Council Partners, and Members

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council (BSAC) proudly announced the appointment of Valerie Silverman as Executive Director during the annual Tribute to Bravery Valor Awards Ceremony held at the Bahia Mar Resort, where more than 300 law enforcement personnel and supporters gathered to honor local heroes.

Valerie has been a vital part of the BSAC team for the past seven years, most recently serving as Chief of Staff. Her passion for the first responder community, dedication to the organization’s mission, and tireless work ethic have played a key role in the Council’s continued growth and impact throughout Broward County.

Over the years, Valerie has worked closely with the police departments and fire rescue agencies throughout Broward County, forging strong relationships and immersing herself in the issues that matter most to the men and women who serve on the front lines- from providing essential equipment and technology to standing with the families of the fallen.
